【摘要】:Thistestmethodcoversaprocedureforquantifyingthemaximumflocculationratiooftheasphaltenesintheoilandthepeptizingpoweroftheoilmedium,byanautomaticinstrumentusinganopticaldevice.Thistestmethodisapplicabletoatmosphericorvacuumdistillationresidues,thermallycrackedresidue,intermediateandfinishedresidualfueloils,containingatleast1mass%asphaltenes.Thistestmethodhasnotbeendevelopedforasphalts.Note1-Anopticalprobedetectstheformationofflocculatedasphaltenes.Thestartofflocculationisinterpretedwhenasignificantandsustainedincreaseinrate-of-changeofsignal,asmeasuredbytheopticalprobe,ensuresflocculationisinprogress.Thestartofflocculationcanbedetectedunambiguouslywhenthesamplecontainsatleast1%massasphaltenesasmeasuredbyTestMethodD6560.Note2-ThistestmethodisapplicabletoproductstypicalofSpecificationD396-Grades5L,5H,and6,andSpecificationD2880-Grades3-GTand4-GT.Thistestmethodwasevaluatedinawithin-laboratorystudyintherangeof16to57forthemaximumflocculationratioandintherangesof27to96forpeptizingpower.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
