【摘要】:Theprimaryobjectivesofworkatlow-levelradioactivewastesitesaretheprotectionofpersonnel,preventionofthespreadofcontamination,minimizationofadditionalwastes,protectionofsampledataquality,andtheunconditionalreleaseofequipmentused.Preventingthecontaminationofequipmentusedatlow-levelradioactivewastesitesandthedecontaminationofcontaminatedequipmentarekeyaspectsofachievingthesegoals.Thispracticeprovidesguidanceintheplanningofworktopreventcontaminationandwhennecessary,forthedecontaminationofequipmentthathasbecomecontaminated.Thebenefitsinclude:Minimizingthespreadofcontaminationwithinasiteandpreventingthespreadoutsideoftheworkarea.Reducingthepotentialexposureofworkersduringtheworkandthesubsequentdecontaminationofequipment.Minimizingtheamountsofadditionalwastesgeneratedduringthework,includingliquid,ormixedwastes,includingseparationofthewastetypes,suchasprotectiveclothing,cleaningequipment,cleaningsolutions,andprotectivewrapsanddrapes.Improvingthequalityofsampledataandreliability.Thispracticemaynotbeapplicabletoalllow-levelradioactivewastesites,suchassitescontaininglow-levelradioactivewastesmixedwithchemicalorreactivewastes.Fieldpersonnel,withassistancefromtrainedradiologicalcontrolprofessionals,shouldhavetheflexibilitytomodifythedecontaminationprocedureswithdueconsiderationforthesamplingobjectives,orifpastexperiencesupportsalternativeproceduresforcontaminationprotectionordecontamination.Thispracticedoesnotaddressthemonitoring,protection,ordecontaminationofpersonnelworkingwithlow-levelradioactivewastes.Thispracticedoesnotaddressregulatoryrequirementsthatmaycontrolorrestrictwork,theneedforpermitsorregulatoryapprovals,ortheaccumulation,handling,ordisposalofgeneratedwastes.1.1Thesepracticescoverthedecontaminationoffieldequipmentusedinthesamplingofsoils,soilgas,sludges,surfacewaterandgroundwateratwastesitesknownorsuspectedofcontaininglowlevelradioactivewastes.1.2Thispracticeisapplicableatsiteswherelowlevelradioactivewastesareknownorsuspectedtoexist.Thispracticemayalsobeapplicableforthedecontaminationofequipmentusedinknownorsuspectedtransuranic,ormixedwasteswhenusedbyitselforinconjunctionwithPracticeD5088.1.3Proceduresarecontainedinthispracticeforthedecontaminationofequipmentthatcomesintocontactwiththesamplematrix(samplecontactingequipment),andforancillaryequipmentthathasnotcontactedthesample,butmayhavebecomecontaminatedduringuse(non-contactingequipment).Forsamplecontactingequipmenttherearefourseparateprocedures(ProcedureAthroughD)inSection8.Fornon-contactingequipment,oneprocedureispresentedascoveredinSection9.1.4Thispracticeisapplicabletomostconventionalsamplingequipmentconstructedofmetallicandhard,smoothsyntheticmaterials.Materialswithroughorporoussurfaces,orhavingahighsorptionrateshouldnotbeusedinradioactivewastesamplingduetothedifficultieswithdecontamination.1.5Inthosecaseswheresamplingwillbeperiodicallyperformed,suchassamplingofwells,considerationshouldbegiventotheuseofdedicatedsamplingequipmentiflegitimateconcernsexistfortheproductionofundesirableorunmanageablewastebyproducts,orboth,duringthedecontaminationoftoolsandequipment.1.6Thispracticedoesnotaddressregulatoryrequirementsforpersonnelprotectionordecontamination,orforthehandling,labeling,s......
